Zivan Filippi, Ph. D., born
in Knin, Croatia in 1940. Literary translator and essayist. Translates books from English,
French and Swedish into Croatian and vv. His major book is "Seven Anthropological
Structures in Postmodern Literature", published in Croatian in 1985 by "August
Cesarec", Zagreb, and reprinted in London in 1996. He began his career as a sales manager in the "Bon Repos" hotel complex
in Korcula, and worked in the National Tourist Office in Stockholm, and as the director of
the "Kompas" travel agency in Korcula, and also as the vice-president of the
Community of Korcula. He is the member of the Association of Croatian Literary Translators
and of the Association internationale d'experts scientifiques du tourisme (AIEST) in St.
Gallen, Switzerland.
He is married to Antica-Tonka Filippi and has a son
Vjeran (30) and a daughter Lana (24).
